An Obedient Dog is a Happy Dog!
What is Day Training???
Day Training is like Board and Train, without the boarding part. I train your dog without you (the owner) necessarily being present. Day Training is done in the client's home, or mine, several times a week.
I work directly with your dog to teach behaviors, and then train my client to maintain them during "transfer sessions." During the transfer session, the dog is "proofed" to my clients and my clients learn the concepts and skills necessary to maintain the dog's progress. These transfer sessions are critical to the success of Day Training. Without them, the dog will learn to just work for the trainer. My clients need the dog to work for them. My clients also need to learn how to maintain the training for the dog's lifetime.
Day Training is a good option for clients who need their dogs to learn basic obedience skills. It is also beneficial for clients who may have limited physical abilities. For example, a senior citizen may not have the timing necessary to effectively train a bouncy, hyper dog. You may not have the physical ability to walk an rambunctious adolescent dog unless the dog has had some training first. Day Training can be an effective way to "jump start" training common family manners behaviors. This service relies on owner participation to maintain behaviors.
An initial consulation is included. We will meet to observe behaviors and set goals. I will communicate with you daily on the training progress.
